As a Ph.D. candidate, I am working on understanding the brain functional network during a disorder by focusing on the EEG/MEG data and by using different signal/network analysis techniques. Analyzing the brain as a complex network has resulted in crucial insights for understanding what happens in neurological diseases and has led to new insights concerning the communication between brain regions and their disruption in patients.
I have done the first two years of my Ph.D. (May 2014- Dec. 2016) in the NAS group of the EEMCS department at TU Delft (under the supervision of Prof. P. Van Mieghem) and with close collaboration with the VU medical center in Amsterdam (under the supervision of Prof. C.J. Stam). Then I transferred to Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Currently, I am continuing my Ph.D researches in the information systems (WSK&I) group of the department of Mathematics and Computer Science (supervisor: Prof. M. Pechenizkiy) with a very close collaboration with the department of Electrical Engineering at TU/e, Kempenhaeghe epilepsy center and UZ Ghent hospital in Belgium.
I received my master (MSc) degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics with great honor (cum laude) from Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran.
